BTWC virtual side event at the Ocean’s Conference

After two years of waiting, and after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the pandemic, 🌊 The United Nations #WorldOceansConference 🌊 returns to Lisbon, and will be held from 27 June to 1 July, jointly hosted by the Governments of Kenya and Portugal. The Conference, which comes at a critical time when the world is strengthening its efforts to mobilise, create and promote solutions to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

In the framework of the Conference, different side events will be organised as part of the official programme. BTWC has been selected to organise one of these side events, which will take place in a virtual format on 28 June. In it, BTWC members, together with representatives of the tuna cities, will address the issue of sustainability in tuna fisheries from a holistic perspective, with emphasis on the promotion of the Tuna Sustainability Declaration Agreement promoted by BTWC, and with the participation of the representatives of the different tuna cities.
